About
the bio…
I'm a freelance writer currently based between Norwich and Edinburgh, having recently spent 18 months in the Netherlands. I love to write about theatre, books, radio and podcasts, film, food, mental health, low carbon travel and obscure corners of history. I find it hard to look directly into a camera lens.
I write regularly for The Wee Review. I've written for Scottish Field, Scot's Heritage, WOW247 & ThreeWeeks. I've reviewed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival since 2011. You can see examples of my work here.
I've also produced social media and website content in-house for the Expat Archive Centre, Greyfriars Kirk, RBGE, the University of Edinburgh, and Media Education.
You can find me on Twitter @Kirsten_Hayley and on Instagram @kirsten_hayley - a clear masterpiece in social media handle originality.
Other things I like - cheese, extensive reading, choirs, cooking, cheese and travel via train - often to find new and especially stinky cheese.
